Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) - A pensioner has to answer to the Neubrandenburg district court from today (10:00 a.m.) for serious sexual abuse of his granddaughter. The public prosecutor accuses the 72-year-old man from Neubrandenburg of having sexually assaulted the girl fourteen times between December 2020 and October 2022.
The granddaughter was between 11 and 13 years old at the time. It should have come three times to completed sexual intercourse. The accused has been in custody by order of the Neubrandenburg district court since the end of October 2022.
Three days of negotiations are planned for the process. A verdict is expected on March 21st. Due to the age and to protect the girl concerned, the hearing could take place behind closed doors, the district court said in advance.
