Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: 87-year-old abused and robbed: search for perpetrators

Stralsund (dpa/mv) - The police in Western Pomerania are still looking for a man who is said to have attacked, robbed and sexually abused an 87-year-old woman in her apartment in Stralsund on Sunday. As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, the search for the perpetrator has so far been unsuccessful. According to the previous investigations, the incident happened on Sunday afternoon in an apartment building in the Knieper West district.

The stranger is said to have rang the woman's bell, immediately forced her into the apartment, sexually abused her and stole cash and a mobile phone. Only later did the slightly injured elderly woman realize that a large amount of money and her mobile phone were missing. Forensic pathologists examined the victim.

According to the police, it was established that there had been a similar attempt at a robbery in the prefabricated building the day before. There someone had rung the bell of a 78-year-old neighbor and allegedly wanted to go to the toilet in her apartment. However, the woman remained suspicious. She didn't let the visitor into the apartment and threatened to call the police. Then he fled. Whether it is the same man in both cases is still being checked.
