Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: 95-year-old stopped after dangerous car maneuver

Rostock (dpa/mv) - The police in Rostock are investigating a 95-year-old driver for dangerous interference in road traffic. As a police spokeswoman said on Monday, the man was stopped by a courageous passerby after a meandering drive in the Schmarl district at the weekend. The pensioner's car had already collided with a curb and got into the oncoming lane. The alarmed police officers found that the 95-year-old was not under the influence of alcohol on Saturday evening, but was no longer fit to drive.

It also came out that the Rostocker had previously been noticed several times because of his unsafe driving style and the accidents it caused. So the officers confiscated his driver's license and car keys and called the driver's license office. The witness was expressly thanked.
