Moraas (dpa / mv) - Not far from the town of Moraas in the Hagenow region (Ludwigslust-Parchim) a fire has broken out again. As a police spokesman said on Wednesday, around 1,000 square meters of forest burned on Tuesday, with a hunting pulpit also being destroyed. The damage is estimated at several thousand euros.
Firefighters were able to put out the flames before more damage was done. According to initial investigations, the fire is said to have broken out at the hunting pulpit. The police are investigating suspected arson, hoping for clues and also examining connections with other fires that had already occurred near Moraas in August.
At that time, a larger dry grassy area on the outskirts and also a forest area burned. In both cases, the source of the fire was quickly discovered by chance, so the damage was minimal.
