Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Almost 750,000 euros distributed for club projects

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - According to its own statements, the volunteer foundation Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania distributed 745,337 euros to 565 associations in the state in the year that was coming to an end in order to support their projects. The foundation, based in Güstrow, announced on Friday that the budget had been exhausted. 60,000 euros, which could not be spent in the previous year, were also made available in 2022.

According to the information, another focus of the work was advising associations, since a study by the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences had revealed a great need. It is about questions such as the generational change in club boards, winning new activists, preventing the committed from being overburdened or finding sources of money, it said.

40 club teams received a one-year support program with trained consultants, as the managing director of the volunteer foundation MV, Adriana Lettrari, announced. The next 40 teams started in October. Clubs could then apply again from July 2023.

Legal advice was also a focus of work in 2022: 292 board members were informed about association law and non-profit status. The Volunteer Foundation MV has existed since 2015.
