Ückeritz/Wolgast (dpa/mv) - Unknown persons broke into construction sites in Ückeritz and Wolgast (West Pomerania-Greifswald) at the weekend and stole large quantities of construction tools. As a police spokesman said on Monday, the total damage is estimated at a five-digit sum. According to previous investigations, several construction containers in Ückeritz were opened by force. Tools worth at least 12,000 euros disappeared there. Even the fence secured with a lock could not stop the perpetrators.
The incident in Ückeritz on the island of Usedom was noticed and reported on Saturday. A burglary in a building in Wolgast that is currently under construction became known on Monday. The damage is still being recorded here. A connection between the acts will be examined.
