Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: burglary in the station building: the police are looking for sword thieves

Jatznick (dpa/mv) - Thieves stole swords during a burglary in Jatznick (West Pomerania-Greifswald). As a police spokesman said on Thursday, the crime happened at a club in the old Jatznick train station. This is on the Berlin-Pasewalk-Stralsund railway line outside of the village on the B109 federal road towards the Baltic Sea. According to initial investigations, the doors were broken open between May 29 and June 1. The perpetrators searched all the rooms and stole an "unknown number" of Japanese weapons. The damage was estimated at several thousand euros. The historic train station, which is a listed building, was abandoned by the railways after 1990 and stood empty for a long time.
