Kavelstorf (dpa/mv) - Several people were seriously injured in an accident on the Rostock-Berlin Autobahn 19 on Sunday evening. As a police spokesman said, between the Kavelstorf and Laage (Rostock district) exits, a car with five occupants drove at high speed into another car that had stopped there because of a breakdown. According to previous knowledge, at least three people were seriously injured in the rear-end car, probably including children.
Further details are not yet known, it said. The freeway was closed southbound for several hours to allow vehicles to be recovered and the cause of the accident investigated. On Sunday there was a lot of return travel from the weekend from the Baltic Sea to the south in the Rostock region.
