Plau (dpa / mv) - a 57-year-old driver was killed in an accident near Ganzlin south of Plau am See (Ludwigslust-Parchim). As a police spokeswoman said on Friday, the cause of the accident was probably excessive speed and a lack of attention on the part of the driver. The investigation revealed that the car had left the road at high speed on Thursday on Landesstraße 17 in the direction of Retzow and hit a tree. The car was completely destroyed, parts flew several meters. The driver from the Plau region was alone in the car and died at the scene of the accident. The road west of Ganzlin was closed for around four hours. What distracted the driver so much that he left the road to the right is unclear.
