Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: CDU parliamentary group calls for further funding

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is calling for the state to continue funding the digital classroom in the Rostock digital innovation center. The state's funding expired on June 30, which was completely incomprehensible to her, said Katy Hoffmeister, member of the CDU state parliament, on Sunday. "A project so successful that even schools from other federal states are asking to be stopped because of a lack of 30,000 euros a year, throws a significant light on the red-red state government." Minister of Education Simone Oldenburg (Die Linke) is now required to ensure follow-up financing.

According to Hoffmeister, the digital classroom must continue to be open to schools, "so that digital teaching is not only technically possible at more and more schools in the country, but also actually taught in practice". The MP is convinced that the long-term successful digital future of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania depends on the digital skills of the pupils.

In the digital classroom, teachers and interested parties can familiarize themselves with the latest technology. Various apps are available there that make distance learning easier, for example. These include programs for the preparation and presentation of learning content or for working together in groups.
