Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The construction industry in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania closed the past year with a strong increase in sales. The state building association cites the sometimes sharp rise in prices as the main reason. In nominal terms, the statistics for companies with 20 or more employees show an increase of 19.6 percent compared to 2021. "Price-adjusted and therefore real, this is only an increase of 2.3 percent. A strong month in December with numerous final calculations prevented things from getting worse. In fact, the construction industry is slowing down," stated Managing Director Jörn-Christoph Jansen on Thursday. The larger companies covered by the statistics therefore achieved sales totaling 2.1 billion euros.
