Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Corona policy equated with the Nazi regime: fine

Stralsund (dpa / mv) - The Stralsund district court has sentenced a man from Barth (West Pomerania-Rügen) to a fine for incitement to hatred. The 66-year-old should pay 1,200 euros because he had equated the Corona policy with the Nazi regime, as a court spokesman said on Wednesday.

From late August to early October 2021, the man put up a poster in his garden with a photo-text montage of the entrance to the Auschwitz concentration camp. The writing "Vaccination sets you free" could be seen on it.

At the entrance to the Nazi camp in Auschwitz, where hundreds of thousands of people were murdered, it said "Work sets you free". The convict was said to have created a inflammatory connection with corona vaccinations with the assembly. In addition, signs of unconstitutional organizations were used.

The district court had followed the request of the public prosecutor's office. The poster and the associated laminator were confiscated by the court. The convict also denied the allegations in court. He had already lodged an appeal against a penalty order from the public prosecutor's office for 1,000 euros, which led to a district court trial. Now he appealed against the verdict while still in the courtroom.

In connection with corona vaccinations, wearing the Star of David or symbols based on it is considered a trivialization of National Socialist tyranny and contempt for the millions of victims. Holocaust survivors have repeatedly denounced comparisons of their suffering with measures taken during the corona pandemic.
