Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: death of a man: no misconduct in the rescue control center

Rostock (dpa/mv) - In connection with the death of a 75-year-old in Rostock-Lichtenhagen on December 20, initial investigations have shown no signs of misconduct on the part of the dispatcher in the rescue control center. This was announced by the public prosecutor and the police on Wednesday in Rostock. The emergency calls received in the rescue control center on the day of the operation were evaluated by the Rostock criminal police.

The man fell in his apartment on December 20th and then died. Investigations followed on the suspicion of failure to provide assistance, since the rescue service is said to have only appeared at the scene after the police had asked. A final report on the autopsy of the body is not yet available. Until then, the investigation will continue.

The police headquarters in the Hanseatic city had announced that police officers provided first aid after the wife called the apartment. After the condition deteriorated, the arrived emergency services had to resuscitate the man. However, these measures were reportedly unsuccessful.
