Gransebieth (dpa / mv) - An 82-year-old driver lost control of his car after entering a rest area on Autobahn 20 on Saturday and crashed into several vehicles. Six people were injured, including a child, police said. The man is said to have previously driven at excessive speed to the Trebeltal rest area in the Vorpommern-Rügen district.
After losing control of his vehicle, the man collided with two parked cars. The person who caused the accident was seriously injured. The two passengers in his car, including the child, escaped with minor injuries. The police could not say how old the child is. Two people were trapped and seriously injured in one of the parked cars, and another person was slightly injured in the other. The three seriously injured were taken to hospitals by helicopter and ambulance.
