Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Drugs worth 2.8 million euros: court case

Rostock (dpa / mv) - Because of drug trafficking, including more than 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, two men have to answer before the Rostock district court from today (9:00 a.m.). The regional court gave the value of the cocaine at almost 100,000 euros. In addition to the cocaine trade, the public prosecutor also accuses the two Germans of selling around 272 kilograms of marijuana with a value of 2.7 million euros between March and June 2020. The two men, aged 31 and 34, have been in custody since January.

According to the information, the accused are said to have communicated via specially encrypted mobile phones from the provider EncroChat. These devices could neither be used to make phone calls nor to use the Internet, only chat and voice messages could be sent and saved.
