Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Father lets boys ride mini bikes illegally: fall

Malliß (dpa / mv) - Two boys raced around the prefabricated buildings in Malliß (Ludwigslust-Parchim district) with a so-called pocket bike like racing drivers - and fell. The eight-year-old biker's father now has to face criminal charges, a police spokesman said on Tuesday. The 42-year-old man is said to have illegally allowed his son and his nine-year-old friend to use the mini-bike on public roads. After several laps on Monday, the eight-year-old driver failed to make a left turn and fell.

Both boys were slightly injured. The police confiscated the vehicle to find out, among other things, how fast the mini motorcycle was traveling. Pocket bikes are a maximum of 50 centimeters high, can be between 45 and 60 kilometers per hour and can also be ridden by children on private property - but not on public roads, as the police spokesman explained.
