Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: FDP considers a seamless local transport network in MV to be unrealistic

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The FDP parliamentary group sees a limit to what is feasible in the expansion of local public transport in the north-east. "We have to stop with the crazy idea that people can be taken from anywhere in MV to any destination by public transport," said FDP parliamentary group leader René Domke on Wednesday in Schwerin. This does not correspond to reality.

In the EU Parliament's decision to end combustion vehicles by 2035, Domke also sees "overly ambitious symbolic politics". For the masses there is no affordable alternative and associated infrastructure to maintain individual mobility. The FDP faction leader therefore advocated the use of synthetic fuels, so-called e-fuels, which can also be used in combustion engines.
