Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: FDP parliamentary group leader calls for the end of the mask requirement in public transport

Schwerin (dpa / mv) - The Schwerin FDP parliamentary group leader René Domke, with reference to statements by the virologist Christian Drosten, calls for the end of the last corona protective measures. "We feel confirmed that our demand in the state parliament will lift the still existing mask requirement in public transport and the isolation requirement," said Domke on Monday in Schwerin.

Drosten had expressed the assessment in the "Tagesspiegel" that the corona pandemic in Germany was over. After this winter, the immunity of the population will be so broad and resilient that the virus will hardly be able to get through in the summer. The only restriction the virologist named was another mutational leap. "But I don't expect that anymore at the moment."

Domke therefore called for health to become an issue of personal responsibility and consideration again, no longer an issue of state orders.
