Ueckermünde (dpa/mv) - Late on Saturday evening, a fire broke out in a former car workshop in Ueckermünde. Old tires and garbage were stored in the building, as the police headquarters in Neubrandenburg announced on Sunday. Nobody got hurt. The cause of the fire is still being determined. Police are considering arson. In the course of Sunday it should be clarified whether a fire investigator should investigate the case.
The fire was not extinguished until around 4 a.m. Several emergency vehicles from the volunteer fire brigades from Ueckermünde, Bellin and Eggesin were in action. The hall is badly damaged. The amount of property damage was initially unknown.
