Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: First a woman without a driver's license, then a partner under alcohol

Altheide (dpa/mv) - A couple from the Vorpommern-Rügen district had to leave their two cars in Altheide after police checks at the weekend. As a police spokeswoman said on Monday, the 49-year-old woman was only stopped with the car for a check on Saturday evening. It turned out that she was still banned from driving. She was not allowed to drive her car again until December and had to leave the car.

The woman called her boyfriend, who came in his car from the Fischland-Darss-Zingst peninsula. However, the officers noticed the smell of alcohol when picking it up. A breath test of the man showed 1.28 per thousand. The 49-year-old had to hand in his driver's license, park the car and come to a clinic for a blood test.

Finally, a friend of the couple was called, who also came by car. This was really roadworthy and authorized to drive, it said.
