Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: "Flair by the sea" for four days in Rostock's Iga Park

For a good two years there was hardly any trade fair activity in Rostock, the contact restrictions due to the corona pandemic only allowed such events in exceptional cases. With the "Flair am Meer" things are really getting going again.

Rostock (dpa/mv) - The "Flair am Meer" trade fair with around 100 exhibitors started in Rostock's IGA Park on Thursday. After two years of a corona-related break, four days will focus on the topics of garden, living, lifestyle and enjoyment, said project manager Juliane Turloff. The location in the western area of the IGA Park is new and is characterized by avenues of trees, lush green hedges and reeds along the way.

In keeping with Father's Day, the topic of grilling also plays a special role, said Turloff. In addition, well-known cooks and suppliers from the region are expected. Among other things, a large island playground has been set up for children. On Saturday there will be a classic car meeting with cars from bygone eras.

The Federal Horticultural Show planned for 2025 in Rostock also plays a role at the fair. Various contacts will be present to explain the details of the still controversial project to the visitors. "For us as a modern federal horticultural show in Rostock, the focus is on sustainability. We take this into account in the planning and, for example, attach great importance to site-appropriate planting with resilient, healthy and climate-adapted species and varieties," said Buga Managing Director Oliver Fudickar.
