Stralsund (dpa/mv) - With the aim of Stralsund, numerous swimmers are again getting into the water from Rügen today. It starts in Altefaehr and then about 2300 meters to the promenade of the Hanseatic city. After a smaller version last year due to the corona pandemic, up to 1100 participants were able to register again this time. In 2021, a maximum of 650 swimmers were allowed to start in stages. In 2020 the sporting event was completely canceled. The Sundschwimmen between Rügen and Stralsund has existed since 1965.
