Röbel (dpa/mv) - Delivery problems in the construction sector and loss of income due to strict MV Corona rules at the beginning of 2022 overshadow the 25th anniversary of the Müritz-Therme in Röbel (Mecklenburg Lake District). As a city spokesman said on Tuesday, the number of visitors in the fun pool is high and stable, but the important sauna area can only be reopened later than planned in the course of the renovation because parts are missing. This reopening was planned for the anniversary on December 6th.
The sauna and wellness area has been closed since April for the extensive conversion and extension. A total of around 750,000 euros will be invested, as the spokesman said. A new sauna house was built in the outdoor area. According to the city, the corona state rules, which were too strict, caused the city to suffer an estimated loss of around 200,000 euros. The thermal baths had to remain closed from November 2021 to March 2022, although such facilities in neighboring Brandenburg had long since reopened in 2022. In addition, after three days of opening during the winter holidays, they had to close again.
The city will compensate for the corona deficit. All in all, they are satisfied with the number of visitors, which is likely to increase with the sauna, they said. The Müritz-Therme should remain open despite the energy crisis, Mayor Andreas Sprick (CDU) explained.
