After the CDU, the opposition FDP spoke on Tuesday of a scandal that was completely unacceptable. The education policy spokeswoman for the Liberals in the state parliament, Sabine Enseleit, said: “There were also restrictions due to corona measures in other federal states, but there are still results from these countries.” Corona must not "become the standard excuse for doing nothing," she railed.
Education Minister Simone Oldenburg (left) explained that the IQB carried out the investigation in all federal states in a period from April to August 2021. "The query for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was started in April." The schools in the north-east were still in lockdown. Oldenburg quoted the IQB: "An exception is Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where the surveys were only carried out in a fifth of the planned schools due to school closures in connection with an early start of the summer holidays. Therefore, no results for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are shown in this report. " The study revealed growing deficits among fourth graders in Germany.
