Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Gala for the homeless in Warnemünde: "Monchi" waits

Rostock (dpa/mv) - After a two-year Corona break, the Christmas Angel citizens' initiative is again inviting around 150 homeless people to a gala at the Hotel Dock Inn in Rostock-Warnemünde today (from 6 p.m.). The program includes a three-course Christmas menu and music. Santa Claus also makes an appearance. "We just want to create a festive, cozy evening without being sentimental," said coordinator Uwe Krostitz.

The musician Jan Gorkow, frontman of the punk band Feine Sahne Fischfilet, who is known under the name "Monchi", is now also part of the permanent staff of the helpers. He joined the project as Jan and not as "Monchi". Krostitz said the musician just likes the project and helps out with the waiters. The gala is financed exclusively by donations. The transport company RSAG or the Verkehrsverbund Warnow will take care of the return journey for guests.
