Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Glöckner: Hansa reinforcement with "realistic highlight"

Rostock (dpa / mv) - Patrick Glöckner does not plan to increase the squad of the second division soccer team FC Hansa Rostock during the winter break. The new Mecklenburg coach told the "Ostseezeitung" (Tuesday) in an interview: "On the whole, I don't think so." The 45-year-old, who succeeded Jens Härtel on November 7th, added: "If a realistic highlight comes onto the market, you can think about it again."

After the 1-0 win at Eintracht Braunschweig, the Rostockers spend the World Cup and winter break in ninth place with 21 points, but are only four points ahead of a relegation zone. Glöckner is not too worried about staying in the league. The team is "capable of maintaining the class and achieving the goals. I do believe that we can still develop in the direction that the club would like to see."

The 45-year-old announced that he would seek talks with Ridge Munsy and Thomas Meißner, who were suspended by Härtel: "I'll talk to them and then I think the door is open. It looks like they're coming back will." But the coach is also certain: "If you don't want to work on yourself or let yourself get carried away, you've come to the wrong place."
