Rostock (dpa / mv) - The soccer professional Maurice Litka from the second division club FC Hansas Rostock, who has been injured for almost two years, has to undergo another operation. "During the operation, the knee is looked at to see what is currently causing the problems, where the symptoms come from and why Maurice was thrown back in his rehabilitation," said Hansa trainer Patrick Glöckner to the "Norddeutsche Latest News" on Tuesday after one Phone call with the attacking midfielder.
Litka tore a cruciate ligament in his right knee on December 16, 2020 in the away game of the Hanseatic League, who were still third-rate at the time, at FC Ingolstadt. Since then, the 26-year-old has been repeatedly thrown back by new health problems in rehabilitation and has not played a game. Nevertheless, Hansa had extended his contract by another year in the spring until June 30, 2023.
Hansa started preparing for the second half of the Bundesliga season on Monday and will train twice a day until the Christmas break on December 22nd. On December 14 (4:00 p.m.) the team will play a friendly against Bundesliga club 1. FC Union Berlin. A training camp in Belek, Turkey, will follow from January 5th to 15th, 2023. The second half of the season starts on January 28 at 1. FC Heidenheim.
