Krakow am See (dpa/mv) - In the sweltering heat, a wasteland and forest fire broke out near Krakow am See (Rostock district) on Wednesday. As a police spokesman said, firefighters were able to prevent major damage and extinguish the flames in an area of about four hectares. About a quarter of the fire affected a mixed forest. According to current knowledge, there is no evidence of arson. It was said that the extremely dry grass probably ignited by itself in the hot summer temperatures of around 37 degrees. 42 firefighters were on duty.
