Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Hunters advise on swine fever: elect a new president

Linstow (dpa/mv) - The state hunting association is giving advice on combating African swine fever at its delegates' meeting in Linstow this Saturday (9.30 a.m.). The country has recently drastically reduced the boar reward, which some hunters don't like. The state government's plans for a new hunting law in MV are also causing discussions. The association would like to be involved at an early stage, as the outgoing association president Volker Böhning told the German Press Agency.

Around 180 delegates want to elect a new president in Linstow. Böhning, who is also President of the German Hunting Association, is not standing again after 20 years in office. Vice President Marco Gemballa declared his candidacy for the successor before the meeting. According to the association, there are around 10,000 hunters in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
