Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: IHKs further paralyzed by cyber incident

Schwerin/Dortmund (dpa/mv) - The Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are further paralyzed by the possible cyber attack on their central IT service provider. The investigations have now been taken over by the Central Office for Cybercrime North Rhine-Westphalia, said a spokesman for the IHK Gesellschaft für Informationsverarbeitung (GfI) in Dortmund, which is responsible for IT. The service provider is gradually checking its systems and putting them back into operation. They do not want to make any statements about the exact timetable.

The IHK in Rostock assumed last Thursday that it would be able to work again this week. GfI had previously announced that it had shut down all IT systems as a precautionary measure in the event of a possible attack. All 70 IHK locations in Germany are affected.
