Rerik (dpa/mv) - A bank robber did not get far after a robbery in Rerik (Rostock district). As a police spokeswoman said on Tuesday, the 46-year-old was arrested shortly after the morning robbery. Through the precise description of the perpetrator, a helicopter crew recognized the fugitive in the area around the small town and led the officials to him. According to previous investigations, the man, who was already known to the police, entered the bank branch with a knife, threatened an employee and demanded money.
After receiving a three-digit sum, he fled again by bicycle - and 90 minutes later was already handcuffed in the patrol car. The public prosecutor's office is now examining whether an arrest warrant will be requested for the 46-year-old, who also refrained from masking. The broadcaster Ostseewelle had previously reported on the case. Nobody got hurt.
