Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Lightning strikes a holiday home: 800,000 euros in damage

Born am Darß (dpa/mv) - A fire broke out in a holiday home in Born am Darß due to a lightning strike. The thatched house was struck by lightning on Sunday evening while a family was vacationing there, police said on Monday. The family was able to get to safety and everyone was unharmed. The extinguishing work continued on Monday morning. The police estimate the damage at around 800,000 euros.
