Schwerin (dpa / mv) - During a thunderstorm, a fire broke out in a semi-detached house in Schwerin. As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, there was damage of around 250,000 euros on Monday evening. According to initial investigations, lightning is said to have struck half of the house in the Warnitz district. A resident who was briefly outdoors at the time was injured and taken to a clinic. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but the affected half of the house is currently uninhabitable.

On Monday evening, a storm front very slowly moved across the south and west of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. According to the police, there was little damage. In Baumgarten (Mecklenburg Lake District), part of the corrugated iron roof of an agricultural hall on the B108 was covered.
