Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: men ignite fireworks fountain at the town hall: police operation

Anklam (dpa / mv) - Two men set off fireworks at the town hall in Anklam (West Pomerania-Greifswald), triggering fire brigade and police operations. As a police spokesman said on Wednesday, the two men set off a fireworks fountain on Tuesday evening in such a way that the fire alarm in the town hall was triggered. Fire brigade and police moved out. Minor damage was caused to the town hall due to sooting.

The two 24-year-old men fled, but were caught. Other pyrotechnics that had been illegally imported from Poland were confiscated from them. The duo is now being investigated for damage to property and violation of the Explosives Act. Firecrackers and other fireworks are divided into hazard classes in Germany. For certain pyrotechnics, which are subject to the Explosives Act and are often illegally imported from Poland, you need a special permit.
