Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Mini excavator worth 26,000 euros stolen on Rügen

Rambin (dpa/mv) - Thieves stole a construction machine worth 26,000 euros on the island of Rügen. As a police spokesman said on Wednesday, the yellow mini excavator disappeared from a connecting route near Rambin (West Pomerania-Rügen) on Tuesday night. A larger vehicle or trailer was probably used for the removal. The construction workers parked the excavator on the construction site on Monday evening and it was gone on Tuesday. Criminalists could have secured clues. The police are still hoping for information from witnesses. It was the first major construction site theft in the region this year.
