Schwerin/Lubmin (dpa/mv) - Anyone who wants to object to the planned liquid gas terminal in Lubmin has six days to do so. After the end of the inspection of the documents on Monday, objections can still be submitted to the State Office for Agriculture and the Environment (Stalu) until November 28th, the Ministry of the Environment announced on Tuesday in Schwerin.
With this clarification he wants to prevent speculation, said Environment Minister Till Backhaus (SPD): "At all times we, as the licensing authority, have emphasized that we stand for a legally secure procedure".
The private operator of the floating LNG terminal, Deutsche Regas, wants to start importing as early as December 1st. For this, however, the approval process would have to be completed. "We will be technically ready on December 1st," said Stephan Knabe, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, last Wednesday. The special ship required for converting the liquid natural gas - the "Neptune" - is already on its way to Lubmin and should arrive in the next few days.
