Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: mobile home worth 70,000 euros stolen: found

Ribnitz-Damgarten (dpa/mv) - A 70,000-euro mobile home was stolen in the Vorpommern-Rügen district and found about half a day later around 30 kilometers to the south. A police spokesman said on Sunday that the 7.40-metre-long white camper van was spotted by a local resident next to her home in Marlow. Criminalists were able to secure tracks on the broken-in vehicle. The owner had parked the mobile home in Ribnitz-Damgarten and last saw it on Thursday evening.

It was gone by Friday morning. The woman from Marlow reported it on Friday evening. The investigations were still ongoing. In 2021 there was a whole series of such mobile home thefts in the north of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, in which around 20 vehicles with a total value of around 900,000 euros disappeared. The police suspect professional gangs from Eastern Europe behind this series of thefts. Since the corona pandemic, camping vehicles have been in even greater demand than before, it said.
