Gützkow (dpa/mv) - According to the police, the attack on a money transporter in Western Pomerania was carried out by professionally organized criminals. This is indicated by the sophisticated preparation of the crime and what happened afterwards, as a police spokeswoman said on Thursday to the German Press Agency. For example, shortly before the robbery in the morning, extra massive concrete blocks were set up on the driveway from the 111 federal highway to the 20 highway near Gützkow. The perpetrators used this to force the money transporter to stop in front of it.
The perpetrators must also have known that the security service wanted to switch from the B111 to the A20 on this tour. Then the two employees in the front driver's cab, which can be locked, were probably not attacked at all. After the money transporter was violently opened from behind, the heavily armed perpetrators fled with a vehicle and loot worth millions.
This van was found burned out in a forest several hours later - just a few kilometers away. There was a high probability that another getaway vehicle was waiting there. The search for the perpetrators continues.
