Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Unknown people have smeared the Ministry of the Interior in Schwerin with red and black paint. As a police spokeswoman said on Friday, the slogan "queerphobia kills" was sprayed on an area of about two by two meters on the facade of the ministry not far from the Pfaffenteich. The term queer is used to describe non-heterosexual people or people who do not identify with the traditional role model of men and women or other social norms relating to gender and sexuality.
The police are now looking for witnesses who can provide information about the incident that is said to have occurred on Thursday night. State security is also examining the case. The ministry, which is guarded by a security service, is based in the listed, formerly grand ducal armory in the city center.
