Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The construction of the Knüppeldamm Bridge in the Schwerin Castle Park has begun. "The replacement building became necessary because damage to the structure was found during routine checks, which significantly affected the stability and traffic safety of the bridge," said the property management in Schwerin on Wednesday. The wooden bridge is to be replaced by a steel structure with a wooden covering over a span of 5.80 metres.
The completion of the new building is not expected until spring 2023. The costs are estimated at 350,000 euros.
