Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: School started again after the Christmas holidays in MV

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - After the Christmas holidays, classes started again on Tuesday for the more than 150,000 schoolchildren in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. After the violent wave of colds in December, there is hope that chains of infection were broken during the week-and-a-half break. There was initially no information from the Ministry of Education as to whether the classes and teachers were largely complete again.

Shortly before the Christmas holidays, 9 of the approximately 500 state schools had switched to alternating classes in the higher classes due to absences due to illness. One school even switched to distance learning and emergency care.

The next holidays are already in sight for the children and young people in MV: After five weeks of lessons, the winter holidays begin on February 6th, when the first half of the school year is over. The winter holidays last two weeks.
