Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Schwesig starts a week-long summer tour through MV

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - Immediately after her summer vacation in southern France, Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) will start a week-long Mecklenburg-Western Pomeranian tour on Monday. The focus of the planned company visits and talks will be on economic development, energy and digitization. "The program was coordinated with the chambers of industry and commerce in the state, and there will also be a meeting with the state farmers' association," said Schwesig on Friday in Schwerin. The forthcoming talks are likely to be shaped by concerns about high energy prices and imminent gaps in the gas supply, as well as farmers' criticism of the reforms in agricultural subsidies and the fertilizer ordinance.

On her first stage, the head of government will visit two companies in the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim that will determine the structure, the metal construction company Dockweiler AG in Neustadt-Glewe and the Hydraulik Nord Technologies GmbH in Parchim. In Schwesig's opinion, both companies could play an even greater role in the expansion of hydrogen technology and the application of new drive systems in the future. At the end of the first day of the tour, Schwesig invites you to the second export evening of the state government in Schwerin. "Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania set a foreign trade record in 2021. But we want to attract even more companies to export," said Schwesig.

After an interruption on Cabinet Day Tuesday, the tour will continue on Wednesday in the east of the country. In Greifswald, Schwesig visits the Digital Innovation Center and speaks to representatives of the regional economy during a trip on the Pommernkogge "Ucra" in the evening. Thursday is reserved for agriculture with visits to several farms in Western Pomerania. Schwesig announced that on Friday the topics of renewable energies, maritime industry and port management would be the focus in Rostock. At the end of the tour on Saturday, she wanted to visit the day of the fire brigade in Ribnitz-Damgarten and in the evening in Ludwigslust the small festival in the large park, the most popular event at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival.
