Wegezin (dpa/mv) - A fire destroyed a thatched house in Wegezin (West Pomerania-Greifswald) and caused a lot of damage. As a police spokesman said, the fire broke out on Wednesday morning and, according to initial estimates, caused damage of around 170,000 euros. The two residents of the semi-detached house present, an 86-year-old man and his 58-year-old son, were able to escape in time and notified the fire brigade, who were able to extinguish the flames several hours later. The cause of the fire is still unclear. After initial investigations, a fire expert should examine the cooled ruined fire in the next few days and determine the cause.
