The 59-year-old sports car driver turned around in town, drove back briefly, but when he wanted to stop at the scene of the accident, another driver drove her car from behind. Major damage was caused to both cars, both parties involved were injured.
The sports car driver's friend from Neubrandenburg had previously driven north and collided with a pensioner's car on a driveway. The senior had disregarded the right of way when driving onto the main road. The B109, which many drivers use at the weekend via the Autobahn 20 near Rollwitz for fuel tourism and to buy cigarettes in Poland, was blocked in both directions for around an hour. The police estimated the total damage to the four vehicles at around 30,000 euros.
