Rostock (dpa/mv) - Students took to the streets in Rostock on Saturday to draw attention to difficult financial circumstances and a lack of affordable housing. The demonstration was organized by the State Conference of Student Unions (LKS). The police spoke at the start of around 50 participants.

The young people received support from the rectorate and the senate of the University of Greifswald. The deputy chairwoman of the FDP parliamentary group, Sabine Enseleit, also supported the students. They should be able to complete their studies without worrying about cold libraries or unaffordable rents and expensive canteen food. "The FDP Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will carry the concerns of the students to the state parliament," promised Enseleit.
