Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: the doctor has to pay 100,000 euros: the procedure is discontinued

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The district court of Schwerin has temporarily suspended criminal proceedings against a doctor from the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim, who was accused of fraud and breach of trust, against payment of a sum of money. As a court spokesman announced on Tuesday, the 56-year-old should pay a total of 100,000 euros. Of these, 30,000 went to the state treasury. 70.00 euros get the health insurance, with which the doctor, according to the court, had illegally billed aids that he prescribed and handed over to his patients. According to earlier information, there were almost 1,000 cases with a total value of 500,000 euros.

The trial began on September 5 and was originally scheduled to last longer. The doctor now has until March to pay the fine, it said. Once this has taken place, the criminal proceedings are deemed to have been discontinued. With the setting according to Section 153a of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the accused is spared the penalty, since an entry in the Federal Central Register does not take place.
