Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: The state government is inviting citizens to forums because of the energy crisis

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The state government wants to talk to citizens about the challenges of the energy crisis at nine public forums in the coming week. "The rising energy prices concern us all. The state government takes the concerns of the citizens, but also of the companies in the state, very seriously. That is why we in the cabinet decided to invite citizens to forums throughout the state," said Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) on Thursday in Schwerin.

At the nine events that are to take place in all districts and urban districts of the state, the ministers want to address the concerns of the population between Tuesday and Thursday next week. Schwesig himself wants to start the series of citizen forums on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium in Wismar. According to the Prime Minister, the cabinet members want to talk to people about affordable energy, government support and the energy transition.

Consumer Protection Minister Jacqueline Bernhardt (left) will also bring experts from the consumer advice center, the tenants' association and the debt counseling service to the CampHus in Ludwigslust on Thursday.
