Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: "Theater Advent Calendar" sounds again

Neustrelitz (dpa/mv) - The Neustrelitz Theater has relaunched an offer developed during the Corona period: the "singing, sounding Advent calendar". "It was so popular, we definitely want to keep it that way," said Wenke Frankiw, spokeswoman for Theater und Orchester GmbH on Thursday in Neustrelitz. In the digital format, musicians can be experienced as soloists or ensembles, actors, individual singers or even the opera choir. There is also a look behind the scenes with a click.

The artists play on a side stage, in the lighting control room, at the stage manager's desk or in the "mask". These are places that theater guests hardly ever get to know. On December 1st, four violists kicked things off, intoning "Oh you happy". "With the digital advent calendar, we can stay in close contact with the public," said Frankiw. Many letters from viewers and students as well as thousands of clicks on the Internet would have shown that. The "singing, sounding advent calendar" was developed in the first lockdown in 2020 because theatrical performances were not possible.
