Tribsees (dpa / mv) - When two cars collided on the Autobahn 20 between the Tribsees and Grimmen-West junctions (Vorpommern-Rügen district), three people were injured on Saturday, two of them seriously. At around 9:55 a.m., the car of a 62-year-old collided sideways with another car while overtaking for an unknown reason, the police said. This vehicle left the roadway and rolled over. The 60-year-old driver and his 11-year-old granddaughter were seriously injured, his 58-year-old wife slightly injured. They were taken to hospitals.
The two occupants of the other car were unharmed. According to the police, both vehicles suffered total damage of an estimated 25,000 euros. In addition to ambulances, an emergency doctor and fire brigades, there were also two rescue helicopters on site. The A20 was closed for rescue and recovery operations for about an hour and a half.
