Heringsdorf (dpa/mv) - On Wednesday evening in Benz near Heringsdorf on the island of Usedom, a tractor driver overlooked a high-voltage line stretched over a field and got stuck in it. The 23-year-old driver was slightly injured by the current flowing in the line, the police said. The man was able to get out of the vehicle before the tractor and trailer caught fire. The police estimate the damage to property at around 400,000 euros. There was no visible damage to the high-voltage line. During the rescue work, the power had to be turned off briefly in the communities of Benz, Heringsdorf and Korswandt. The fire was extinguished in the evening.
